WebWise Security was established in 2005 to provide Web application security solutions. The founding team is composed of professors and PhD students from UCSB's security research group, and they have been involved in computer security for more than 30 years. This premier intrusion detection research group has developed intrusion detection systems that are used world-wide. The group was ranked first in several DARPA IDS evaluations, and performed early research on detecting attacks against Web applications (Netscape Navigator 4.03 is a result of the Santa Barbara privacy bug). |
The WebWise Security team has extensive experience in penetration testing. Their customers range from small retail sites to large international banks and government agencies. Several of the founding members also made up the core team that won the DefCon "Capture The Flag" hacking competition in 2005. WebWise Security's mission is to provide sophisticated Web security solutions that allow organizations to secure their Web-based applications. WebWise Security is a privately held company with headquarters in Santa Barbara, California. |
